On February 13th, 2025, Lena Hornkohl, Member of the Board of Directors of Ius Omnibus, participated in the Draft Article 102 TFEU Guidelines on Exclusionary Abuses – Stakeholder Workshop, held in Brussels by the European Commission. As an expert in competition law, Lena contributed to discussions on the evolving legal framework for exclusionary abuses, engaging with leading practitioners, academics, and policymakers.
During the workshop, Lena took part in two key breakout sessions:
“Capability to Produce Exclusionary Effects: Evidentiary Burden and Substantive Legal Standards” and,
“Tying and Self-Preferencing”.
Her insights shed light on the complexities of assessing exclusionary conduct and the need for clear, enforceable standards that safeguard competition while ensuring legal certainty. By actively contributing to these discussions, Lena reinforced Ius Omnibus’ commitment to advocating for fair and effective competition policies for consumers within the European Union.
The workshop provided a platform for valuable exchanges on the challenges and implications of the Draft Article 102 TFEU Guidelines, with Lena emphasizing the importance of striking the right balance between protecting competition and preventing abusive practices. As the debate around these guidelines continues, Ius Omnibus remains dedicated to engaging with key stakeholders to help shape a legal framework that fosters fair markets and consumer welfare.
